Ok, perhaps we can tolerate the monotonous merry-go-round of Hollywood’s sequels, prequels, remakes, and whatever the hell a multiverse is if, occasionally, Michael B. Jordan decides he’s going to take his exceedingly good directorial lens outside the confines of the boxing ring and into one of the heist genre’s more cult titles: The Thomas Crown Affair.

Jordan (who first pitched this to MGM back in 2016), Jordan steps into the titular role of the globetrotting thief knowing full well of the title’s cinematic legacy – Steve McQueen immortalised the character in the hugely popular 1968 original, pulling off bank jobs in Boston for kicks, dune buggies and polo mallets included.
