The ability to add a digital version of your driver’s license to your iPhone looks like it will be rolling out to a 15th US state before too long. That future is likely still a long way off, but Apple made a start back in 2021 when the company announced plans to allow iPhone users to add a driver’s license or state ID to the Wallet app. We recently outlined the process for adding a driver’s license or state ID card to the Wallet app on your iPhone. Even so, the digital version can help protect your privacy at places like eligible TSA checkpoints and when required to prove your age to a business. The ID confirms that you meet the age requirement, but doesn’t disclose any personal information like date of birth.
