Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed yesterday during the company’s FY26 Q4 earnings call that a new Copilot “super app” is on the way. Microsoft currently has two separate Copilot apps, Microsoft Copilot for consumers and Microsoft 365 Copilot for both consumers and enterprise users. In a way, Microsoft having two separate Copilot apps is reminiscent of the two separate Microsoft Teams apps on Windows. Windows 11 launched with a new Teams app for consumers, but Microsoft eventually merged it with its existing Teams app for enterprise users. Microsoft has redesigned its two Copilot apps so many times in recent years that I’m not sure if the company can do better than OpenAI with its Copilot “super app” in terms of design.
