ACCT Philly isn't mincing words: Animal shelter officials are describing a crisis of epidemic proportions taking place as the shelter literally runs out of space. ACCT Philly Executive Director Sarah Barnett told NBC10 Philadelphia that the city's open-intake animal shelter is at capacity. More than 600 animals arrived at ACCT Philly this week alone, the highest weekly intake the organization has experienced in more than 10 years, according to NBC10. ACCT Philly is urging the public to help by fostering, volunteering, or adopting a pet from ACCT Philly. Additionally, ACCT Philly is waiving adoption fees on weekends throughout August.
