Six Flags Great Adventure is gearing up to debut a new roller coaster for 2027. The South Jersey amusement park announced on Tuesday, July 28, that "Bakunawa," billed as the world's fastest spinning coaster, will launch next year. According to an NBC10 Philadelphia report, the coaster will pursue six world-record ambitions, including the fastest spinning coaster at 100 mph and the tallest spinning coaster at 382 feet. It will also boast the fastest inversion at 80 mph and other firsts such as a floorless spinning ride and an upside-down launch. "Over the past year, we've made meaningful investments across our resort that continue to transform the guest experience," said Mike Fehnel, Six Flags Great Adventure park president, in a statement shared with the Patch.
