Mississippi utility worker rescued after getting partially buried in trench

First responders successfully rescued a utility worker pinned inside a trench along Anderson Road following a 40-minute multi-agency operation, according to the Oxford Fire Department.
Emergency crews dispatched to the scene found the unidentified worker partially buried in dirt with no way to escape without assistance.
Following the rescue, the worker was airlifted by Hospital Wing 7 to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for medical treatment.
In an official statement, the Oxford Fire Department commended the Oxford Police Department, Priority Ambulance, and Hospital Wing 7 for their quick response, praising the “teamwork and professionalism displayed by all agencies involved.”
Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the worker to become trapped, and the victim’s current condition remains unknown.
