Mississippi officials are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man found lying on the ground next to a car. Officials say the shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 1100 block of Webster Street Extension in Yazoo City. When officers arrived on the scene, they found McKinley Sawyer, 23, of Yazoo City, on the ground. Sawyer died as a result of a gunshot wound, officials confirmed. The case is under investigation by the Yazoo City Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI).
