That being said, Destatis points out that a rise in exports was arguably the key reason as preliminary findings saw that consumer spending remained subdued while investment declined. The more detailed breakdown will only be provided in the final report, so this is all there is for now. Still, the headline figure will be a little encouraging but the devil will be in the details. And much like the resilience seen in France as well, the bigger challenge will be to keep this up in 2H 2026.
