Sandy B. McNutt, the city of Longview, Washington’s squirrel mascot, disappeared from his spot in front of the library, according to The Spokesman-Review. No one noticed it for a while, which is rather peculiar, since the wooden statue is 10 feet tall. The culprits turned out to be the Longview Sandbaggers, known for their pranks. Whichever, the Sandbaggers have a GoFundMe for a new Sandy and upkeep on the Nutty Narrows squirrel bridge. Meanwhile, the old Sandy has about a month to reappear for the annual Squirrel Fest on Aug. 26.
