St Vincent Times
The future of local farming is taking center stage as the ROOTS Youth in Agriculture Programme continues its mission to inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Facilitated by the Rural Transformation Unit, the initiative is designed to provide young participants with a comprehensive look at modern farming, blending traditional practices with cutting-edge technology.
The programme kicked off its recent activities on Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24, with a focus on value-added processing.
The Rural Transformation Unit’s primary goal through this programme is to equip youth with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.
By offering exposure to innovation and modern farming technology, the Ministry continues its efforts to encourage greater youth involvement in the agricultural sector, ensuring it remains a vital and evolving part of the national economy.
