Speaking at the event, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, appealed to the National Peace Committee to intervene over what he described as escalating politically motivated violence in the state.
“I should have boycotted this peace meeting because of the violence unleashed on Osun State in the last few months on the directive of Gboyega Oyetola.
War is being waged against my people by the Osun APC with the alleged backing of the Osun State Police Command.”
Also speaking, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, commended Bishop Matthew Kukah and members of the National Peace Committee for their efforts to promote peaceful elections.
