TROUP — A boil water notice issued late Tuesday afternoon for some Troup residents has been rescinded as of Thursday, officials said. The partial notice was issued around 4 p.m. Tuesday after a water main line broke and was repaired and the lines were flushed. The notice impacted City of Troup customers west of Brandon Street on State Highway 110, on County Road 2138 (Old Tyler Road), Westwood Drive, Oakwood Drive, Oakwood Circle, and Alley Road. Water samples were sent off and tested then approved by a third-party lab, ensuring water is safe to drink and use for consumption purposes. The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of July 30.
