Capcom has revealed during its latest financial results that digital products take up more than 93% of its overall game sales, a figure that the publisher expects to only increase over the next year. In comparison, digital game sales took up 22.2 million units — a clear indication of how digital goods have greatly surpassed disc products in recent times. Looking ahead, Capcom expects the share of digital games to rise to 95.4.% by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2027. Capcom said that 6.7% of its sales are physical, presumably all on console, meaning about 16.9% of its console game sales are from disc-based products. Furthermore, Capcom counts the Nintendo Switch 2 game-key cards as digital sales as opposed to physical products, so that’s also a factor to consider in the figures above.
