Traffic lights remained dark in Homewood on Wednesday, July 29, two days after the village was hit by a tornado that tore through Country Club Hills, Hazel Crest and Harvey, too.
Lines of vehicles stretched from several busy intersections, such as Ridge Road’s crossings with Ashland Avenue and Dixie Highway, where motorists were forced to navigate four-way stops.
