KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has announced the extension of Section 144 across the province for an additional month, citing current concerns over law and order. The new order will be effective from August 1, 2026, and will remain in force until September 1, 2026. The ban also includes the public display of weapons, with authorities emphasizing that carrying or displaying firearms in a manner that incites fear or panic is not allowed. Additionally, security officers traveling in vehicles must keep their weapons secured inside the vehicle, and the public display of firearms during patrols or outdoor activities is banned. Police station chiefs (SHOs) are directed to register cases swiftly and enforce strict action against violators of the order.
