Ehime prosecutors drop charges against man who kept wife’s skeletonized corpse for 5 yearsEHIME (TR) – Prosecutors have dropped charges against a man in his 60s accused of abandoning the skeletonized corpse of his wife inside their home here for roughly five years, reports TV Ehime (July 29). The Matsuyama District Public Prosecutors Office decided on November 28 not to indict the unemployed man, who now resides in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, citing insufficient evidence. Investigators believed the woman died around 2018 and that the man knowingly left her remains to decompose for five years before turning himself in. In a bizarre twist, a second skeletonized corpse was also discovered inside the home. While the corpse abandonment charges regarding his wife have been dropped, police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the second body found on the property.
