A park break is not a substitute for professional care when stress or physical symptoms are persistent or severe. Twenty minutes in a park can feel too ordinary to count as an intervention. If the cortisol response appeared at a similar rate while sitting and walking, movement alone cannot account for the pattern. A separate scoping review of college-aged adults found beneficial changes after both sitting and walking in nature, often within 10 to 30 minutes. Sitting was compatible with the cortisol result, and the greatest estimated return appeared within a duration that can fit into an ordinary day.
