(Provo, UT) — A BYU football player is facing DUI and other charges following a traffic stop in Provo. Police say linebacker Ephraim Asiata was pulled over on July 2nd and allegedly gave a deputy a false name and date of birth before failing field sobriety and breath tests. Investigators also say the 20-year-old admitted to using a fake ID to buy alcohol. Asiata survived a 2023 shooting near a West Valley City school that killed two other teenagers before later committing to play football at BYU.
