Born on February 27, 1946, in Ontonagon, Michigan, to David and Doris DeVowe, he was raised in Trout Creek and was the youngest of three children. Eugene married Alice Virmala on July 6, 1968, and together they built a life filled with family, love, and many cherished memories. Eugene loved the outdoors and enjoyed trout fishing, partridge hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Eugene will be remembered for his love of family, strong work ethic, kindness, quiet sense of humor, passion for the outdoors, and love of cribbage. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Agate Cemetery in Trout Creek, Michigan.
