A Nigerian man has stirred debate on social media after calling on citizens to boycott South African singer Tyla’s upcoming concert in Nigeria over recurring xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other African nationals in South Africa. He questioned the South African government’s response to the attacks, asking whether enough had been done to bring perpetrators to justice. He also criticised South African entertainers, including Tyla, for what he described as their silence on the issue. He further argued that Nigeria has enough internationally recognised artistes to headline major concerts without relying on foreign performers. He ended his remarks by saying, “Allah will ban her from coming.”
