This is my incisive summing up as I walk out of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, having just enjoyed 90 minutes of conversation between artistic director Alan Cumming and “Perthshire’s darling” McGregor. While I’m always interested in what both actors have to say, I’ve seen shamefully few of their on-screen projects. Instead, I was met with an evening of lively, far-reaching conversation which ranged from their shared Perthshire roots to life in LA and assisted dying. Tanking Lemsips and facing down lionsOn stage, Cumming was his usual sharp self, in both dress and wit. Audience participation – from all over the worldAfter the break, the conversation turned outward, with 45 minutes of audience Q&A.
