New assistant PPS director strives to make a difference in Seaford

The Seaford School District has appointed Nicole Schimpf as assistant director of pupil personnel services for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
Most recently, she served as executive director of special education and pupil personnel services in the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District for three years.
Before that, she was director of special services in Valley Stream District 30 for 12 years.
In her new role, Dr. Schimpf will oversee special education and related services for students in prekindergarten through eighth grade.
“A focus on social and emotional learning is embedded into the culture here, and the district is well known for its comprehensive special education programs.”
