The Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar has officially begun, with the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes (Group 1) opening this year’s festival programme. The prestigious two-mile contest attracted a world-class field of runners from leading international stables, with Scandinavia securing victory under jockey Ryan Moore for trainer Aidan O’Brien. The trophy was presented by Rashid Nasser Al Kaabi, Vice President of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), in the presence of Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, Chief Executive Officer of Visit Qatar. Beyond the racing action, Visit Qatar is showcasing the destination through an immersive pavilion at Goodwood Racecourse, designed to introduce international visitors to Qatar’s culture, hospitality and tourism attractions.
