More than just explaining the origin of the famous phrase, the documentary shows how Brazilian fans have become key players in the relationship between artists and their audience. “Like all my work, Come to Brasil is, above all, a story about community,” she says. In addition to Abascal as director, the documentary was produced by Gia Rigoli, Vero Kompalic, Tadeu Bijos, Isabel Vallenilla and the filmmaker herself. Prior to Come to Brasil, Abascal directed the award-winning short film Stud Country, which was part of the LA Times Short Docs series in 2024.
