Hosted in Rockaway Park, one of Queens’ most reliably Republican neighborhoods, the event highlighted Blakeman’s campaign message of public safety, affordability and economic growth while energizing volunteers for the final stretch of the race.
Nassau County Republican Committee Chairman Joe Cairo opened the afternoon by making the case that Blakeman can overcome New York’s Democratic voter registration advantage, pointing to his decisive re-election victory in Nassau County, where Democrats significantly outnumber Republicans.
Radio host Sid Rosenberg of 77 WABC followed with an energetic introduction, recalling how he became an early supporter of Blakeman after initially backing another candidate for Nassau County Executive.
Assembly District 23 Republican candidate Tom Sullivan also addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of Queens in any successful statewide campaign.
With the campaign entering its final months, Tuesday’s rally demonstrated the enthusiasm surrounding Blakeman’s candidacy as supporters left Harbor Light ready to take the campaign message into neighborhoods across Queens and beyond.
