VALDOSTA — It’s official: data centers are set to be welcome in Lowndes County, but not without a fight. The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners hosted a data center information session on Jul. The ordinance for control on data centers stems from consistent and ever-expanding protests against the building of data centers in Lowndes County as a whole. This was compared to sections of Lowndes County, both from industries in the unincorporated parts of the county and their adjacent subdivisions. “It is ultimately in the interest of all of us that we openly and transparently work on a data center ordinance together.”
