The Town of Vermilion is proceeding with airport repairs after a grant fell through. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful this year in our application,” explained Robert Dauphinee, Vermilion’s director of infrastructure and planning services. The ask of council is to move $15,387 from the airport reserve to help fund the project. “We do have approximately $132K presently in the airport reserve and anticipating another $150K added as part of this year’s budget and process,” Daphinee said. “This council has stated we want to keep our airport in good working order,” he said, noting that’s why they put money into the airport reserve.
