The Destination Management Council (DMC), successor to the Chaffee County Visitors Bureau met in regular session on Tuesday, July 28 at the new Chaffee Public Safety Complex in Buena Vista. In this session, council members heard an update from their prime contractor-partner, DestinationiQ. The routine agenda was quickly amended and began with a discussion about a recent denial of a $40,000 grant by the Colorado State Tourism Office (CTO). How Visitors Bureau Became Destination Management Council (DMC)For years, Chaffee County operated a Visitors Bureau, led for 11 years by contractor Scott Peterson. Via Chaffee County Resolution 2025-59 they contracted with DestinationiQ; a firm in operation for 30 years, located in Buena Vista with several staff members in Chaffee County.
