Steam Local Network Game Transfers Work Across PCs and Steam DeckBefore downloading or updating a game, Steam checks whether another Steam client on the same local area network (LAN) already has the required files. If one is available, Steam transfers the content directly over the local network. The feature works only if both devices are online, connected to the same local network, and have local network game transfers enabled. Users can allow transfers only between their own devices, Steam friends, or any Steam user on the LAN. Save files, Steam Cloud data, Workshop content, and configuration files are not transferred.
