A High Court judge has ruled in favour of Hasbro after it sued SConnect, the makers of Wolfoo, for copyright infringement of Peppa Pig. It was found that Wolfoo’s videos, which have garnered hundreds of millions of views across online platforms, have illegally copied audio from Peppa Pig. Short audio clips of Peppa Pig and her family saying words like ‘horray’ have been used throughout the series. SConnect denied the copyright infringement claim but accepted that some Wolfoo videos made before mid-2020 included audio from Peppa Pig. It was about trying to protect the Peppa Pig brand in one forum, rather than having to bring actions in every single country.”
