Malaysia and Myanmar have reached an agreement.
Five thousand Rohingya refugees will be repatriated in an initial batch, following diplomatic discussions between the two governments.
Former Klang MP Charles Santiago put it more bluntly: “Malaysia cannot, in good conscience, celebrate the return of 5,000 Rohingya to Myanmar without first answering one fundamental question — return them to what?”
@501awani Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim memaklumkan, Myanmar bersetuju menerima semula kumpulan pertama membabitkan 5,000 pelarian Rohingya dari Malaysia, hasil rundingan antara kedua-dua negara.
