The Prime Minister, Dr Elijah Ngurare, has called on Agribank to expedite the processing of Youth Development Fund (YDF) applications, stressing that young people are the cornerstone of Namibia’s future and must not face unnecessary bureaucratic delays.
The Prime Minister made the remarks during an official visit to Agribank headquarters to gain a deeper understanding of the financial institution’s operational structures, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
He urged the bank’s management to eliminate administrative bottlenecks that hinder the effective implementation of the Youth Development Fund, emphasizing that timely access to financing is critical for empowering young Namibians to participate meaningfully in the agricultural sector.
Ngurare further encouraged Agribank to build strong and trusting relationships with farmers, cautioning against judging clients based on their appearance or background.
The Prime Minister also challenged the bank to develop innovative initiatives that will broaden support for young people interested in agriculture, ensuring they receive the financial and technical assistance needed to thrive.
