The Africa Economic Emancipation Forum (AEEF), which functions as the Namibian chapter of the Informal Economy Development Federation (IEDF) Africa, officially introduced itself to the local community by hosting a Trade and Project Fair at the Khomasdal Hall on July 18. The organisation described itself as a global movement committed to eradicating poverty by empowering informal micro-enterprises and strengthening the broader informal economy. “We invited businesses, which we call merchants, to come and exhibit their products, engage and network with the public. The AEEF emphasized that the exhibitors got the opportunity not just to showcase their products, but also to network and form partnerships for community and business development opportunities. “We had speakers from different organizations, who addressed participants on compliance, the journey of business, and we introduced ourselves and what we do, what we stand for, and our plans for informal business communities in Namibia.”
