The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 108 Cops and Kid program will be holding a free end of summer escape event Friday at Shields Park. The event will include a free lunch of a hot dog, chips and slushie, activities and a chance to meet with community organizations such as the Jackson County Public Library, Head start, INDOT and the United Way of Jackson County. There will be a bike giveaway in partnership with Guardian Bikes and bounce houses from Bouncy Fun Rentals. The End of Summer Escape event is sponsored by Centra Credit Union and it will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shields Park. There will also be a free swim night at the Shields Park Pool from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
