Two Decatur County deputies have been chosen as deputy sheriffs of the year by the Indiana Sheriff’s Association. Patrick T. Graue and Deputy Kordell R. Meadows received the prestigious award earlier this month. It recognized the deputies’ courage, professionalism, and selfless actions during a life-threatening incident last year. The award recognized their exemplary professionalism, sound judgment and courage during the incident. Sheriff William B. Meyerrose praised both deputies for their actions saying the department is proud of them and that “Their courage, sound judgment, and unwavering commitment to protecting others while preserving life are qualities that make this recognition so well deserved.”
