Brief intense heavy showers and torrential rain are expected at a few places in the Jammu division. On August 1, scattered places across the Union Territory may receive a spell of light rain or brief thundershowers accompanied by intense showers. From August 2 to 4, the weather department has predicted a few spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places, with heavy rain, intense showers and torrential rainfall likely over a few districts of the Jammu division. The MET Centre said light to moderate rain and thundershowers are also likely at scattered places between August 5 and 7, with brief intense showers at isolated locations. It also cautioned that torrential rain may trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
