Former Balfour Beatty chief joins nationalised British Steel board
['Colin Marrs']
Construction News
Former Balfour Beatty chief executive Andrew McNaughton has joined the board of British Steel following its nationalisation by the government.
McNaughton was appointed alongside three other independent non-executive directors, two government shareholder representatives and three British Steel executives.
The chartered civil engineer previously led Balfour Beatty and served as chief operating officer at transport engineering consultant Systra.
The British Steel appointments followed the government’s decision to take British Steel into public ownership on 16 July.
The government said the directors would work with British Steel’s executive leadership team to shape its strategy and future manufacturing capacity.
