Posting to the public Facebook Group ‘Batley Matters’ on July 27, a resident shared concern about a “12-hour-long” alarm sound coming from the Fox’s Biscuits factory in Batley. The post read: “There has been a very loud alarm going off for almost 12 hours, and it doesn’t sound like it’s stopping any time soon. I understand they have a job to do, but I wish they would be mindful of the residents that live nearby.” A spokesperson for Fox’s Biscuits apologised for the “disruption” caused by the alarm and assured that the cause had been found. “Should residents experience any future disturbances, they can also use these contact details to report them directly to the site.”
