Like a million dollars in the bank, a trust, real estate, cars, boats, or even heirlooms. Not an entire house packed floor-to-ceiling with knick-knacks, loosely sentimental items, and plastic containers they “couldn’t bear to throw out.” In a new survey, 49% of people would rather inherit nothing at all than have to deal with a relative’s junk. In fact, only 20% say they’d choose to inherit “everything” if that was an option. (Apparently, that’s true even if dealing with it all would be a full-time job for, longer than you’d think.)
