Fresh figures published by the Office for National Statistics have revealed a small rise in the number of people living in our area. In mid-2025 Stevenage recorded a population of 92,081, a rise of 0.93 per cent on mid-2024 (91,234). There was a 0.40 per cent increase in North Hertfordshire, with the population rising from 136,818 to 137,365. A full list has been published by the ONS for England and Wales which also shows small population increases in Dacorum, North Hertfordshire and Watford. According to the ONS, population growth in England and Wales has slowed to its lowest rate since the Covid-19 pandemic.
