The new sign was put in Fairlands Way and included directions for Old Town, New Town, Hampson Park and "Arnold Lane Cemetery". The sign should have read 'Almonds Lane Cemetery', with eagle-eyed residents quickly spotting the error. Stevenage Borough Council (SBC) apologised for the mistake and blamed the "manufacturing process", with a new sign set to be installed soon. "An error was identified on a recently installed sign as a result of the manufacturing process," an SBC spokesperson said. The mistake has now been taped over and correctly reads Almonds Lane Cemetery.
