The Parish of Andover has put up the notice beside St Mary’s Church, overlooking the cemetery. The sign says the "footpath surrounding St Mary’s Church" and the "steps connecting Marlborough Street to St Mary’s Church" will close from Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14 for safety reasons. The letter explains that diversion signs will be put up "to help find alternative routes" while the repairs are carried out. It adds: "Thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential repairs are carried out." The work is being coordinated by Kevin Faulkner, facilities coordinator for Andover Parish, on behalf of the Parish of Andover.
