In a statement, Burlington Public Schools Superintendent Eric Conti said the district has ended its contract with the vendor who made the survey and is reviewing the Education Department's findings and proposed agreement "and will respond expeditiously." The federal government is investigating Burlington Public Schools over a survey with graphic questions some students took despite their parents opting them out. The government has now proposed a resolution agreement to resolve the district's violations, saying Burlington Public Schools risks "imminent enforcement action" if they fail to reach a voluntary agreement. Burlington Public Schools must also send all parents copies of the 2025 survey questions that were "improperly administered" to ensure families understand the survey’s content and have the opportunity to discuss it with their children.
