Jimenez-Guzel pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. Mirreh admitted to conspiracy to provide material support after consenting to transfer his case from the District of New Jersey to the Western District of Washington. However, after federal authorities arrested contacts in Dearborn, Michigan, on October 31 over a separate violent plot on behalf of ISIS, Jimenez-Guzel and Mirreh moved up their travel timelines. “Jimenez-Guzel and Mirreh planned to travel abroad to actively fight with ISIS, and Sedarat surreptitiously provided funding for those plans. This Office is committed to disrupting foreign terrorist organizations, preventing ISIS-inspired terrorism, and holding accountable those individuals who support terrorist organizations.”
