Seven human remains were found at Queensgate roundabout, currently under redevelopment as part of the City Link project. The £5 million project aims to create a more direct route for pedestrians and cyclists from Peterborough Railway Station to the city centre. The City Link works are expected to be completed by Summer 2027. In a statement to social media, Peterborough City Council said: "We have obtained an archaeological licence and appointed an archaeologist to ensure the skeletons are reburied in line with national guidelines. All discoveries of suspected human remains must be handled in accordance with the Burial Act 1857.
