In Epping Forest district, environmental enforcement officers are using bright yellow sacks to mark waste under investigation, signalling a zero-tolerance approach to illegal dumping. The campaign forms part of a joint effort between Epping Forest District Council’s environmental enforcement officers and the estate management team to deter offenders and warn residents that action will be taken. Cllr Darshan Sunger, portfolio holder for public protection and environment, said: "These new yellow sacks are a visible deterrent and engagement tool in tackling fly-tipping. We want to send a message to everyone in the district that this council has a zero-tolerance approach to fly-tipping in our communities." Fly-tipping in the district carries a maximum fixed penalty notice of £1,000 for domestic waste.
