The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, run by The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, remains rated as 'requires improvement' overall following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection carried out between November 2025 and January 2026. However, the CQC gave 'good' scores for medical care, including older people’s services, as well as in the 'caring' and 'effective' categories. "As a result of operational changes, we have reduced waiting times and improved patient access to care." The report highlighted patient feedback describing staff as kind and dedicated, which Mr Lafferty said he witnesses "every day." The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust said it is committed to addressing remaining challenges and ensuring that improvements continue to be embedded across all services.
