Police were called at around 9am on Wednesday, July 29, following reports of a man believed to be in possession of a rifle on Beechwood Court in the Birkrig area of Skelmersdale. Officers, including armed police and the police helicopter, attended the scene and located and detained the suspect. "Around 9 am yesterday, we received a report of a man thought to be in possession of a rifle on Beechwood Court. "Officers, including armed officers and the police helicopter attended, and the man was located and detained." An investigation remains ongoing.
