Rendcomb College, an independent day and boarding school near Cirencester for pupils aged three to 18, shut permanently on Friday, July 3. Charity the Rendcomb College Foundation, which provided significant funding to the school, is running a consultation on changing its charitable purposes in light of the closure. Rendcomb College blamed factors including low student numbers, the introduction of VAT on fees and National Insurance increases for its closure. Rendcomb College has been put up for sale with real estate consultancy Knight Frank, with offers invited over £20 million.
