Spider-Man was pictured entertaining members of the public in Bond Street on July 29, the same day that the latest film in the series, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, was released in cinemas in the UK. The film, the 38th set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is the first in a new trilogy starring current actor Tom Holland. It will follow on from the events in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, and will again star Holland's wife, Zendaya, as the character's love interest MJ. The film is now available to watch in several Brighton cinemas, including Duke's at Komedia on Gardner Street and Odeon on King's Road. The Spider-Man franchise is the second highest grossing film franchise of all time, with 2021's release pulling in more than $1.9 billion.
